Enjoy the adventurous trekking to one of the highest mountain passes in the Everest Region, Cho La Pass, at 5,330 meters. This majestic pass connects the Gokyo Valley with Everest Base Camp. Explore the beautiful alpine freshwater lake of Dudh Pokhari and climb the local peak of Gokyo Ri (5357m). Catch the majestic sights of mountains like Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam.

The arduous journey begins at Lukla and gradually advances northeast towards the pristine Gokyo Valley. Gokyo Valley is home to six oligotrophic lakes, where Thonak Cho is the largest, and Dudh Pokhari is the most revered. Both Hindu and Buddhist adherents visit the lake every year during August. Enjoy a scenic hike to Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar in the latter part of the trip.

The 19-days trek begins upon your arrival in Kathmandu. Indulge in a full-day sightseeing tour around some of the most famous UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the city. Then, you’ll catch a 25min long flight from Kathmandu to Lukla Town in the Everest Region.

The trek kicks off along the beautiful Sherpa villages and the massive Dudh Koshi River. The trail gradually rises through Sagarmatha National Park. Make a stop at Namche Bazaar before embarking on an off-beat path towards Gokyo Lakes. Walk past quaint Sherpa villages like Dole, Machhermo, and Gokyo village before climbing the local peak of Gokyo Ri.

The ascent along the Ngozumpa Glacier will bring you to the snow-capped Cho La Pass. Catch the impressive views of Mount Everest and Khumbu Icefall before climbing down towards Pheriche Village. Retrace your path and trek back to Lukla via Namche Bazaar. The trip concedes upon your arrival in Kathmandu.

Itinerary

The trip begins upon your arrival in Kathmandu. Enjoy a lovely welcome at the airport, followed by a short drive to your hotel. After enjoying your refreshment, you’ll visit our office to discuss the trip. Meet your Sherpa guide who will brief you about the trek itinerary. You can visit the local trek gear shop at Thamel to buy or rent necessary trek gear and equipment. Overnight in Kathmandu

Enjoy a delicious breakfast overlooking the beautiful mountainous panorama. Afterward, you’ll embark on a full-day sightseeing tour around Kathmandu City. The tour kicks off with a short drive to Swayambhunath, a revered Buddhist stupa located atop the small hill. Enjoy the fantastic view of the city from the top.

Drive towards Hanuman Dhoka or Kathmandu Durbar Square to relish the historical riches of the city. After lunch, you’ll drive towards Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most revered Hindu temples in the world. The tour ends with a short visit to Boudhanath Stupa, another revered Buddhist stupa in the city. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Wake up early and drive to the airport. Embark on a scenic flight to Lukla, located in the Everest Region. Enjoy the beautiful aerial tour of Eastern Nepal. Upon arrival, you can enjoy your breakfast and then embark on the first day of the trek. The trail rises northward along the massive Dudh Koshi River and heads towards the Sherpa village of Phakding.
Enjoy a delicious breakfast and then embark on the second day of the trek. A short hike along the scenic waterfall will take you to Monjo village. Monjo marks the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Begin traversing through the national park and cross a few suspension bridges to reach Namche Bazaar. Spend the evening enjoying the beautiful view of Kongde Ri Peak. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.
You’ll wake up to the magnificent view of Kongde Ri Peak. Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the teahouse. Afterward, you’ll begin hiking around the Bazaar area. Take a short walk towards the neighboring village of Khumjung. Khumjung village is home to the iconic Khumjung Monastery that houses the purported Yeti scalp inside a glass box. From here, head towards Syangboche Airport and trek downhill to reach Kunde village. Explore the beautiful Hillary School before climbing down to Namche Bazaar.
Leaving Namche, you’ll begin trekking upstream along the Dudh Koshi River and head towards Phortse village. Leaving the Dudh Koshi trail, you’ll start climbing east towards Kyanjuma village. The Gokyo trail offers a scenic sight of some of the most beautiful peaks, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Tawache, and Khumbila. Walk past Sansa village to reach Dole. Overnight in Dole.
Leaving Dole, you’ll begin climbing towards Machermo village. The trail leading from Dole comprises of beautiful Rhododendron forest. Traverse along the rhododendron bushes to head towards Luza village. After enjoying your lunch, you’ll continue on your trail towards Machermo village. Catch the beautiful sights of Cho Oyu, Kantega, and Thamserku peaks en route. Overnight in Machhermo.
Machermo village lies just below the terminal moraine of Ngozumpa Glacier. After breakfast, you can consider making a short hike towards Machermo Glacier. The offbeat trail leads towards the Machermo peak. Along the way, you’ll walk just beside the pristine Machermo River. Spend the rest of the day acclimatizing. Overnight in Machermo.
Leaving Machermo, you’ll begin climbing along the Machermo River towards Phangga village. Catch the beautiful sights of Kangtega, Thamserku, and Cho-Oyu peaks en route. A rather difficult walk alongside the Gokyo River will take you towards Longpongo. Walk past Raboche Tsho to reach the quaint site of Gokyo village. Spend the evening admiring the splendid sight of Dudh Pokhari.
The day begins with a short tour around the Dudh Pokhari Lake. Afterward, you’ll embark on a short climb to Gokyo Ri Peak at 5,357 meters. The pristine peak lies just above the Ngozumpa Glacier. Catch the mesmerizing sights of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu peaks from the top. Afterward, you’ll begin climbing down to Thangnak village. Overnight in Thangnak.
Thangnak is a small Sherpa village. From here, you’ll begin the trek to one of the highest passes in the region. Begin climbing the snow-capped pass. The trail goes through the snow, which may require the use of crampons. Once at the top, you’ll find many beautiful prayer flags strung across cairns. Spend some time admiring the beautiful view before climbing down towards Dzongla Village. The trail drops towards a basin filled with ice. A short climb overlooking the beautiful Cholatse Peak will bring you to Dzongla village. Overnight in Dzongla.
Leaving Dzongla, you’ll begin climbing east towards Lobuche village. The trail begins to descend and then ascends gently towards Lobuche village. The short trail offers an excellent view of Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Lhotse, Everest, and Pumori Peaks. Lobuche is a Sherpa village located on the foothills of the massive Lobuche Peak. Overnight in Lobuche.
Leaving Lobuche, the trail begins to climb along the standard Everest Trail. Walk past glacial moraine and rocky path overlooking Pumori, Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Nuptse peaks. The trail begins to climb along the Khumbu Glacier towards Gorakshep. Upon arrival, you’ll enjoy your lunch. Embark on a 4-hour hike towards Everest Base Camp. The trail lies on the glacier and snow-covered rocks. You can catch the majestic sight of Khumbu Icefall. Retrace your path and head back to Gorakshep.
An early morning hike will take you towards Kala Patthar, the local landmark in the Everest Region. An hour-long trek through the steep ridge will take you to Kala Patthar. Catch the majestic sights of mountains like Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku Peaks from the top. Retrace your path and begin trekking down to Gorakshep. After enjoying your breakfast, you’ll begin heading downhill towards Pheriche village.
Leaving Pheriche, you’ll begin climbing downstream along the Dudh Koshi River. Walk past Pangboche village to arrive at Imja Khola. After crossing the river, you’ll head toward Debuche village. Enjoy your lunch before climbing down to Tengboche village. If time permits, you can visit the scenic Tengboche Monastery. Overnight in Tengboche.
Tengboche is home to the century-old Tengboche Monastery. The highest Buddhist monastery in the region hosts the annual festival of Mani Rimdu every October. You can visit the monastery and meet the local monks. After breakfast, you’ll embark on a downhill trek towards Namche Bazaar. The trail climbs downstream along the Dudh Koshi River to arrive at Phortse. Climb down the stone steps overlooking the Kongde Ri Peak to reach Namche Bazaar. Overnight in Namche.
Leaving Namche Bazaar, you’ll begin climbing along with the dense forests and cross few suspension bridges to reach Monjo village. Exit Sagarmatha National Park and climb down towards Phakding village. Enjoy a delicious lunch before climbing down to Lukla. At Lukla, you can celebrate the completion of the trek with your team. Overnight in Lukla.
An early morning flight will transfer you back to Kathmandu. Don’t forget to catch the majestic sights of the mountains and lush forested hills en route to Kathmandu. Transfer to your hotel. Enjoy a delicious breakfast. You can choose to spend the day as you like. Overnight in Kathmandu.
On the last day in the city, you can indulge in a souvenir shopping at Thamel. If time permits, you can choose to visit some of the popular tourist sites around the city. We’ll drop you off approximately 2 hr before your flight
