Enjoy the adventurous trekking to one of the highest mountain passes in the Everest Region, Cho La Pass, at 5,330 meters. This majestic pass connects the Gokyo Valley with Everest Base Camp. Explore the beautiful alpine freshwater lake of Dudh Pokhari and climb the local peak of Gokyo Ri (5357m). Catch the majestic sights of mountains like Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam.
The arduous journey begins at Lukla and gradually advances northeast towards the pristine Gokyo Valley. Gokyo Valley is home to six oligotrophic lakes, where Thonak Cho is the largest, and Dudh Pokhari is the most revered. Both Hindu and Buddhist adherents visit the lake every year during August. Enjoy a scenic hike to Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar in the latter part of the trip.
The 19-days trek begins upon your arrival in Kathmandu. Indulge in a full-day sightseeing tour around some of the most famous UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the city. Then, you’ll catch a 25min long flight from Kathmandu to Lukla Town in the Everest Region.
The trek kicks off along the beautiful Sherpa villages and the massive Dudh Koshi River. The trail gradually rises through Sagarmatha National Park. Make a stop at Namche Bazaar before embarking on an off-beat path towards Gokyo Lakes. Walk past quaint Sherpa villages like Dole, Machhermo, and Gokyo village before climbing the local peak of Gokyo Ri.
The ascent along the Ngozumpa Glacier will bring you to the snow-capped Cho La Pass. Catch the impressive views of Mount Everest and Khumbu Icefall before climbing down towards Pheriche Village. Retrace your path and trek back to Lukla via Namche Bazaar. The trip concedes upon your arrival in Kathmandu.
