|19 Days||Local Hotel and Teahouse||Three time meals a day (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)||Hot water, tea, coffee and soup||6119m||Lobuche Peak Climbing|
Climb one of the most challenging Alpine PD+ peaks in Nepal, Lobuche East Peak, at 6119m to experience a fantastic Himalayan adventure. Enjoy the majestic panorama of Mount Everest (8848m), Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kantega Peak, and Tawache Peak from the summit. Among the twin summits of Lobuche East and West, Lobuche East is often climbed than Lobuche West (6145m). They lie close to Khumbu Glacier in the Everest region.
The two-week-long expedition goes through the main Everest trail and crosses many beautiful Sherpa villages en route. You’ll encounter many technical ascents such as ice and snow, sharp and exposed ridges, and vertical walls. In 1984, Laurence Nielson and Sherpa Ang Gyalzen became the first two mountaineers to summit the 69th highest peak in Nepal.
Lobuche East Peak Climbing begins upon your arrival in Kathmandu.
Indulge in full-day sightseeing of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the city before embarking on a scenic flight to Lukla. Begin trekking through the traditional Sherpa villages of Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Dibuche, Dingboche, and Lobuche towards Gorakshep. Observe the ethnic lifestyle, culture, tradition, and cuisine of the native Sherpa tribe. A hike to Everest Base Camp (5364m) and Kala Patthar (5545m) offers ample time for acclimatization before approaching the Lobuche Peak. Descend back to Lobuche village and begin climbing towards Lobuche High Camp (5400m).
Prepare for the climb with your Sherpa guide and indulge in training that involves using ice-ax, crampons, fixed rope, and harness. Begin climbing through the southwest ridge. Using the fixed rope, you’ll begin climbing the final steep wall with an exposed ridge to reach the summit. Enjoy a magnificent panorama of the surrounding mountains, and Khumbu and Lobuche Glacier from the summit. Upon completing the summit, you’ll retrace your path back to Lukla. Enjoy a brief visit to the centuries-old Tengboche Monastery en route to Lukla.
