There are different routes one can tackle while trekking in the Himalayas as per your preference. In the Khumbu region, Everest Base Camp is not the only place you can trek to. There are other landmarks you can combine to make your trip more adventurous.

The Everest Base Camp with Cho La Pass trek is unique in the sense it adds an adventurous element to the regular Everest Base Camp trek. You pass by familiar destinations of Namche bazaar, Gorakshep, Tengboche monastery, and Everest Base Camp. Along with it, you can enjoy the additional trek to the Gokyo lakes and the high Cho La pass at 5330m.

Similar to the Everest Base camp trek, you begin the trek from Lukla and head towards Namche Bazaar via Phakding. From Namche, you head to the famous Tengboche monastery and head towards Lobuche via Dingboche. Then, you enter the region of Everest Base camp through Gorakshep.

The hike to Kalapatthar will help you more with acclimatization before heading to Dzongla. Begin the uphill climb towards Cho La Pass before the wind sets in. The ascent begins at the early hours, and you conquer the pass to see the most spectacular views in your life. You head to Gokyo Ri through Thangnak. Along the way, the stunning views of glaciers will mesmerize you.

You explore Gokyo and its beautiful frozen lakes. The hard and steep climb to Gokyo Ri will reward you with the spectacular views of Cho Oyu, Lhotse, Makalu, and Everest. It is recommended that you trek in this region during spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November). It is best to avoid monsoon and winter as the trail becomes slippery with rain and snow.

You get to travel to all the beautiful destinations of Nepal at reasonable prices with Everest Extreme Adventure. The transportation and accommodation services will be as per your choice as well. If you are not comfortable with English, we have our excellent guides and staff who will communicate and help you in the language you’re okay with.
